Travel money on foreign holidays stretches further if you know where to find luxury accommodation on a budget, a new report explains.
And nowhere is it cheaper to enjoy five-star hotels than in the Polish capital of Warsaw.
Here, guests can stay in overnight opulence from a typical £84 per night, according to kayak.co.uk’s study.
The travel website places Greece’s Thessaloniki and Romania’s Bucharest closely behind with an average £87 and £98 a night respectively.
Athens in Greece (fourth with £104), Portugal’s Lisbon (fifth, £113) and Hungary’s Budapest (sixth, £114) are among the other high-end bargains.
Brussels in Belgium (£122), Prague (£138), Berlin (£145) and Madrid (£154) complete the top 10 table.
Kayak’s UK managing director Annie Wilson says that, unlike some two-to-four-star establishments, five-star hotels are usually guaranteed to provide luxury suites, facilities and rooms.
London’s hotels finished bottom of the table, with The Berkeley’s typical nightly rates costing £750.
