The breathtakingly beautiful bay, which is known for its vibrant crystalline water and pristine white sand, came top in the TripAdvisor Travellers’ Choice Beaches Awards.
Grace Bay in the Turks and Caicos Islands finished second in the worldwide list, while Flamenco Beach in Puerto Rico wasn’t far behind in third.
The rankings are based on reviews and ratings from holidaymakers over the past 12 months.
“For those fed up with the long cold winter, there’s really no better cure than an escape to one of these award-winning beaches,” said Barbara Messing, chief marketing officer for TripAdvisor.
“Even if you can’t go to one of these stunning beaches soon, just looking at the photos will take you away for a moment, until you can plan a trip.”
Rabbit Beach in Italy was named fourth best beach in the world – and first in Europe – followed by Whitehaven Beach in Australia, Playa de ses Illetes in Spain, Anse Lazio in the Seychelles, and Lanikai Beach in Hawaii.
